Pill Side Effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:
fast, pounding, or uneven heartbeat;

confusion, hallucinations, unusual thoughts or behavior;

severe dizziness, anxiety, restless feeling, or nervousness;

urinating less than usual or not at all;

easy bruising or bleeding, unusual weakness, fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;

increased blood pressure (severe headache, blurred vision, trouble concentrating, chest pain, numbness, seizure); or

nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).

Less serious side effects may include:

blurred vision;

dry mouth;

nausea, stomach pain, constipation;

mild loss of appetite;

dizziness, drowsiness, headache;

problems with memory or concentration;

ringing in your ears;

restlessness or excitability (especially in children);

warmth, tingling, or redness under your skin;

cold feeling in your hands or feet;

sleep problems (insomnia); or

skin rash or itching.

Symptoms of allergic or infusion reactions including difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; hives; rash; itching; fever; shaking; chest tightness; high or low blood pressure; fast heartbeats; muscle pain; stomach pain; nausea or vomiting; dizziness; numbness or tingling; and headache have occurred upon injection of agalsidase beta in many patients. Most patients treated with agalsidase beta develop antibodies to agalsidase beta and many will develop symptoms of an infusion reaction. A slow rate of injection of the medication and pretreatment with other medications may decrease the severity of these symptoms. Emergency medical attention may be required if a severe allergic reaction is experienced.

chest pain, weakness, shortness of breath, slurred speech, problems with vision or balance;

black, bloody, or tarry stools;

coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds;

swelling or rapid weight gain;

urinating less than usual or not at all;

nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);

fever, sore throat, and headache with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash;

bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness; or

fever, headache, neck stiffness, chills, increased sensitivity to light, purple spots on the skin, and/or seizure (convulsions).

Less serious side effects may include:

upset stomach, mild heartburn, diarrhea, constipation;

bloating, gas;

dizziness, headache, nervousness;

skin itching or rash;

blurred vision; or

ringing in your ears.

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor or nurse immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

reddening of the skin, especially around ears swelling of eyes, face, or inside of nose
unusual tiredness or weakness

Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at site
dizziness
feeling of warmth or redness of the face, neck, arms and occasionally, upper chest
skin rash or itching

Burning, itching, numbness, rash, redness, stinging, swelling, or tingling of the scalp

Large, flat, blue, or purplish patches in the skin
unusually warm skin
Rare
Increased growth of skin lesions
swelling of the breasts or breast soreness in both females and males

worsening asthma symptoms;

mood or behavior changes, anxiety, depression, or thoughts about suicide or hurting yourself;

skin rash, bruising, severe tingling, numbness, pain, muscle weakness; or

nausea, stomach pain, loss of appetite, itching, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes).

Less serious side effects may include:

headache;

nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain;

weakness;

dizziness;

muscle pain; or

fever, sore throat, cold symptoms.
