* If you experience any of the following serious side effects, stop taking Ponstel and seek medical treatment or contact your doctor immediately:
o an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives);
o muscle cramps, numbness, or tingling;
o ulcers (open sores) in the mouth;
o rapid weight gain (fluid retention);
o seizures;
o black, bloody, or tarry stools;
o blood in urine or vomit;
o decreased hearing or ringing in the ears;
o yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice); or
o abdominal cramping, indigestion, or heartburn.
* Other, less serious side effects may be more likely to occur. Continue to take Ponstel and talk to your doctor if you experience
o dizziness or headache;
o nausea, gaseousness, diarrhea, or constipation;
o depression;
o fatigue or weakness;
o dry mouth; or
o irregular menstrual periods.
* Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
